Living in the bush

As a 42 year old woman, I did something pretty crazy a few months ago... I joined the local Rural Fire Brigade. So, as an active fire fighting officer I am currently undergoing training, attending controlled burns, all whilst being dressed as a giant banana in bright yellow.

Strangely, my partner wasn't too surprised. I am one of those people who gets up in the morning and goes and goes and goes until I can't go any more.

So this morning, fire fighting training started at 8.00am and after four hours of that, I came home and moved 3 cubic metres of soil and deco that I had delivered yesterday. Had to have it done today as driveway guys are coming in the morning to continue major repairs from January floods (I KNOW, IT'S NEARLY NOVEMBER and the storms were in January).

But the good news is that I now have a couple of vege patches ready for planting tomorrow with seedlings that I have grown myself. No rest for the wicked!

Will post pictures soon.
